As soon as she was old enough to sit on her Daddy's lap and hold drum sticks, Jodi Austin began
her musical career. Being a professional drummer, it was only natural for Byron Austin to teach
his daughter the drums as her first instrument. Little did he know back then what would be in
store for his talented young apprentice.
It was obvious from the beginning that God had given Jodi a gift of music. At 5 and a half, she
landed her first gig. Before long, she was a regular at the Fun House Pizza and Pub. Every Saturday
night people would pack in to eat pizza and watch the young drummer play and sing.
The drums were only the beginning. Soon she was playing piano, flute, vibes, bass guitar, and anything
else she could find in her dad's music room.
As Jodi grew into a young woman, people realized her vocal talents were every bit as amazing as her
instrumental talents. She continued to play gigs with various bands until, at the age of 13, she
began to play and sing lead. It was time to form her own band.
During her young teen-age career, Jodi performed 2 years at Worlds of Fun Theme Park in Kansas City,
MO and was featured in numerous radio and TV commercials. At the age of 19, Jodi became the organist
for the Kansas City Royals. She was the youngest musician in Major League Baseball and found herself
featured on radio and television. Each night, she would play for average crowds of 30,000 people.
Since that time, Jodi's talents have taken her throughout the US and parts of Canada playing for
fairs, festivals, dances and concerts. She has shared the stage with country legends as well as
new artists.
Jodi has surrounded herself with talented musicians to put together a show with styles ranging
from country to classic rock-n-roll, and everything in between. Jodi's show is filled with music,
emotion, comedy and fun surprises for the whole family.
